Q:42
I’LL ANSWER AS BOTH COBALT AND AMBER BECAUSE YAY CHARACTERS
Cobalt:
Not…really. Definitely not in the romantic sense. I mean, there’s definitely ways for two people to meet and just stick together for life but I don’t believe there’s just one for everybody. Nothing’s that certain in the world.
Amber:
Yes. Perhaps not in the romantic sense entirely, but yes. I don’t think it’s just limited to one person, either, but I definitely believe that there’s someone out there for everybody, platonic or romantic, that you can just connect with in the best of ways.

yeah superhero movies and languages just don’t seem to mix and that bugs me way more than the weapon inaccuracies.
even the guys that were supposed to be russian couldn’t actually speak russian aaaaaaah
like I WOULD LOVE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED IN BUDAPEST
but only if they could attempt to speak proper hungarian aslkdjfklj or just let us assume that it’s all being said in hungarian aaaaa ;A;
timelessalice replied to your post: timelessalice replied to your post: Hey I’ve been…
If what I read was right I’m pretty sure the actor DID learn archery, but wasn’t really allowed to use it, because it’s a superhero movie and no one cares about being ridiculously accurate
Basically the article was going off of stills before the movie was even released—in one still he hadn’t completed his draw and was being compared to a professional—the best archer in the world according to his stats and everything.
Which simply isn’t fair?
Like I might be a stickler for archery but I don’t think you should judge an actor being trained for a role the same way you judge a professional olympic archer. :/
They were complaining about the angle of his arm and how his elbow was rotated upwards but that’s how mine is too since I’m double-jointed and it’s just not fair lakdsjfklj I just don’t think he’s as great as he could be but not as bad as people say haha but yeah superhero movies don’t exactly always strive for accuracy! the fact that it’s even vaguely accurate is enough for me (WHICH I CERTAINLY CAN’T SAY FOR THE ATROCIOUS ATTEMPT THEY HAD AT RUSSIAN AUGH CAN WE JUST NOT LET AMERICANS SPEAK RUSSIAN PLEASE PLEASEEEEEE AT LEAST NOT JUST FOR SUPERHERO FILMS PLEASE god scarjo i love you but you can’t speak russian at alllllll)
timelessalice replied to your post: Hey I’ve been meaning to ask- what did you think of Hawkeye’s archery in the Avengers?
I think he just had the arm guards to look ~cool~ and honestly this is a bit surprising to me because isn’t there a longwinded article on how all his posture/draw/what have you is awful?
Oh yeah I mean like.
Okay long response:
The reason I liked Hawkeye’s archery is that it’s believable at a beginner level and isn’t entirely shitty. There are obviously some drawbacks (oops I did a pun) in that a lot of times during the action scenes his draw isn’t simply possible and is really far-fetched, etc etc
His draw and things aren’t possible on a professional level, sure. I read the same article and all the things mentioned are entirely spot on. But while he doesn’t seem to have been taught by an olympic archer like, say, katniss was, he knows the basics and doesn’t commit any egregious errors. Would he be as spot-on an archer as he is if he had been doing all the shotting and it wasn’t mostly cgi’d in at the parts where it matters? Nnnnnope. But the fact that I didn’t just start yelling at the movie screen was a big deal because he didn’t destroy any of the archery rules—he just wouldn’t be that great at it.
Q:Hey I've been meaning to ask- what did you think of Hawkeye's archery in the Avengers?
IT WAS ACTUALLY FANTASTIC?
Even in the scene where he doesn’t look at what he’s shooting he’s still got entirely proper posture and draw and everything.
Obviously a lot of the archery was far-fetched—it’s a superhero film after all—but even when he’s falling or jumping or whatever it’s still very very spot on and well done.
I still don’t get why he needs two arm guards as part of his costume, though XD
But yes overall I thought it was splendid. Once it’s out on DVD and I can pause and look at stuff more closely i wanna make a post of stills showing what it is he’s doing right~

timelessalice replied to your post: I know I said this in my reblog but man, as someone who studies fighting I know your pain of seeing a passion done so poorly in media
Thank you c: Out of all things, I think, the thing that bugs me the most is when I see people with stances that defy common sense
Seriously!! Like, just stop and think. In a fast-paced, close-combat battle, would you really be standing there with your arms over your head and your legs unbalanced and far apart??

I’m the same way- I dislike the idea of a romantic relationship, quite a lot =/
It’s strange because like. I mean. It would be nice, I suppose. And I’m happy it makes others happy. But the idea of being in one myself someday, being that open with someone…maybe it just has to be the right person. I don’t know.
Am I aromantic? I GUESS? FOR NOW? Bluh.
timelessalice replied to your post: timelessalice replied to your post: You went to…
Well it’s good you went, then.
Yeah! In the end, I guess it is.
It’s really strange how my years at SRC were simultaneously some of my most miserable and some of my most happy.
Simon’s Rock is a school of contradictions, yeah. That’s the best way to sum it up.
timelessalice replied to your post: You went to Simon’s Rock??I’m looking to apply there after next year but am having trouble convincing my parents. Do you recommend the school?
Oh shit my friend was looking at Simon’s Rock (but didn’t end up going due to financial reasons)
ngl Simon’s Rock will drain you out of your money if you can’t get good Financial Aid
but fuck damn is it worth it
just
damn
like my father’s the kind of asshole who would take my mom to court every semester to try to get out of paying but we still put up with that shit because it was so worth it to get out of high school 2 years early and just start living my life
but i can totally understand how financial reasons factor into it :c
